We just caught wind of an upcoming movie called “Trust” that is slated to come out some time next year. Produced by David Schwimmer and starring Clive Owen Catherine Keener, “Trust” is a thriller about a teenage girl from an affluent Chicago suburb who is targeted by an online sexual predator.
We have not yet seen the movie, but we suspect it will serve as an important reminder of the serious threats the Internet can pose to unsuspecting children. Again, it’s important for parents to keep tabs on their kids’ social networking behavior. Kids should not have a computer in their room nor should they have unsupervised access to a webcam (link to interview with Trench Reynolds). Above all, they should not give out their address or personal information to strangers online.
